According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office, it happened on June 7, 2024, after a crash on the Hardy Toll Road.

When they arrived, officials say the driver responsible for the crash fled on foot but was quickly apprehended and identified as Andrea Bernard.

Bernard exhibited several signs of intoxication, investigators say, and while she was being detained she reportedly hit, kicked, spit, and defecated on constable deputies.

Things didn’t stop there though. During the ride to Harris County Jail for a blood warrant, she tried to bribe a deputy with $15,000 to secure her release.

“Andrea Bernard was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated, Harassment of a Public Servant, Bribery, and two counts of Failure to Stop and Render Aid. Her total bond was set at $18,100 by the 486th District Court,” stated Constable Herman in a press release.
