Pedestrian killed by car while trying to cross Southwest Freeway, all outbound lanes closed

A pedestrian has been killed after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Southwest Freeway.

The accident occurred near the Hillcroft exit on IH-69 Southwest southbound before the Westpark Tollway. It was reported at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday night.

All outbound lanes near the incident have been closed off while the scene is being processed.

It’s currently unclear why the person was trying to cross the highway, and we do not have any information on the driver who struck them.
