Did Travis Scott perform in Houston Thursday night? If so, it was his first time on stage here since Astroworld Tragedy

HOUSTON – It appears that rapper, singer, and songwriter Travis Scott took to the stage in Houston’s midtown Thursday night for an impromptu, surprise performance.

IF true, this would mark the very first time that Scott -- a Missouri City native -- has hit the stage since the deadly crowd surge at his Astroworld festival took place back in 2021.

The day after the show, social media was filled with snapshots and different angles, capturing the moment Scott went on stage to perform one song alongside his longtime friend and business partner, Houston’s own, Don Toliver.

Toliver held a show on his birthday, at Warehouse Live in Midtown. It was also the night he released his newest album, Hardstone Psycho.

Back in August 2023, nearly two years after the tragedy at NRG, Houston city officials announced that Travis was going on tour and would be making a stop in Houston.

At the time, law enforcement officials also told KPRC 2 Investigates that leaders within the Houston Police Department were not happy with the entertainers’ return to Houston and that there was reportedly a tense meeting with HPD and several officers recently who expressed their frustrations and safety concerns about the show.

Ultimately, the show ended up being removed from the line-up.

Since the Astroworld Tragedy, Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster II, has been keeping quite a low profile.

He has released one album, Utopia, and also spoke out on several media platforms about what took place.

Earlier this year, he held his Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation celebrity softball game in Houston at Minute Maid Park where he and other notable artists, athletes, and influencers came out to the city to play on the diamond.

He and Kylie Jenner are now parents of two and seem to be trying to remain out of the negative spotlight as much as possible.
