A 7-year-old boy has died in a house fire in south Houston.
The fire was reported at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on the 3000 block of Friar Point Road. The flames were extinguished, but two people were seriously injured. A boy was later reported dead, while the child’s grandmother was transported to a nearby emergency room. Her condition isn’t currently available.

There were also three other children in the burning home who were able to escape.
Investigators with Houston Fire Department are still working to determine the exact cause of the house fire.
