13-year-old killed, another teen hurt in drive-by shooting in SW Houston

Two teenage brothers were hit by gunfire in a drive-by shooting in southwest Houston Sunday night.

The shooting occurred around 8:40 p.m. at a home in the 8900 block of Lakes at 610 Drive in the South Main area of Houston. The brothers, ages 16 and 13, were both shot.

The 16-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 13-year-old was killed.

Officers believe a grey vehicle, possibly a Lexus, drove to the teens. One person got out of the car and opened fire.

Homicide detectives are still conducting their investigation.
