Loved ones, friends, and colleagues around the Houston area are expressing their condolences after a notable resident was killed over the Father’s Day weekend.

According to Kurt Koopmann with the City of Galveston, Susan Farb Morris died after falling from a collapsed balcony.

Koopmann says deputies were called around 2:15 p.m. Friday by someone who reported that two people had been injured after a balcony collapsed in the 19070 block of Kahala Drive.

Morris was injured after the collapse. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Her family announced her death on Facebook following the incident.

The post is filled with comments from people expressing their love and admiration for the lady known as Houston’s PR Fairy.

Funeral services for Morris were held on Monday, June 17 at the Barish Sanctuary at Congregation Emanu El.

Inspectors are headed to the home Tuesday morning to investigate the balcony collapse.

Additionally, Koopmann says there were no permits pulled so there was no reason for the city to inspect the property; it is private property.
