TOMBALL, Texas – Tomball ISD says vandals caused significant damage to Creekside Park Junior High, forcing the board of trustees to pass a motion for the superintendent to execute a contract for emergency repairs in order for the school to be ready for the upcoming school year.

The district passed the motion Tuesday, which will allow for the superintendent to execute a contract for an amount not to exceed $1,000,000 pending final vendor quotes.

“These emergency repairs are needed to restore Creekside Park Junior High from significant water damage caused by unauthorized visitors who participated in acts of vandalism on May 29,” the district said. “Tomball ISD immediately identified the vandals through video surveillance and partnered with Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office to ensure these vandals are held responsible and financial dollars are recouped.”

A law enforcement investigation into the vandalism continues.

The district said the damage to Creekside Park Junior High must be rectified so the campus is ready to reopen in August. The agenda item was brought to the board to facilitate a quick turnaround.

“Tomball ISD does not condone vandalism and we are embarrassed that vandals caused this damage. All Tomball ISD facilities strive to provide the best possible student experience throughout our Destination District. As a community, we must understand the importance and value we place on property and belongings,” the district said.
