At least 6 people injured in multi-vehicle crash involving METRORail train near Houston Medical Center

HOUSTON – Several people were left injured in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon that involved a METRORail train between the Houston Medical Center and the Astrodome, according to METRORail.

The crash happened just after 3 p.m. on Fannin Street and Old Spanish Trail.

Officials said two vehicles crashed, which caused one of the vehicles to swerve into the train -- trying to avoid the collision. The train reportedly hit the vehicle that swerved and two other vehicles were clipped in the process. Four vehicles have been damaged in total.

At least six people, two in one vehicle and four on the train, were reportedly injured during the collisions.
