Houston serial rapist sentenced to 99 years in prison

Holton Morris III (Harris County DA Kim Ogg)

HOUSTON – A man who was found guilty of sexual assault has been given a lengthy sentence behind bars.

Morris “Mack” Holton III, 39, was convicted of aggravated sexual assault earlier this week, a charge stemming from an attack in 2021. During the trial, jurors also heard from three of Holton’s other alleged victims.

He received a maximum sentence of 99 years behind bars. He has also been ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.

At the time of the 2021 assault, Holton was on parole after being sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2013 for tying up and sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint. He also had a long criminal record prior to that conviction.

Holton would primarily contact his victims through online advertisements and, while posing as a customer, would gain the victim’s trust and insist on meeting them in person. After meeting the victims, Holton would pull out a weapon, zip-tie the victim, rob them of their valuables and then sexually assault them.

Police said the suspect was identified by a victim after Holton had reached out to her on Instagram days after a sexual assault had happened.

Police also learned that Holton’s crimes were meticulously planned, and he kept images of his victims as deranged “trophies” of his crimes.

“This man is a true predator who planned, plotted and schemed to rob and rape women, and this prison sentence ensures that he will be behind bars for decades,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. “We are so very proud of the victims who came forward in this case and in similar cases. It’s hard to do, but it’s so important.”

Hilton must serve at least 30 years behind bars before he is eligible for parole.
