According to HPD Lt. Willkens, it all started a little after 11:15 p.m. when an unidentified woman in her 50s, who he began by describing as “highly intoxicated,” sideswiped another driver on Polk St. near Hwy 59.

That driver, a woman in her 20s, reportedly then got out of her car to confront the other woman, who in turn responded with gunfire, shooting her through her car, before trying to flee the scene. The victim was hit in the shoulder but it’s unclear if she was hospitalized.

Another person in the victim’s vehicle flagged an officer nearby and told them what happened. The “highly intoxicated” woman was then captured shortly afterward near Jensen and brought back to the scene. She was then taken into police custody and charged with DWI but will face additional charges related to the shooting.

As of this writing, no additional information has been shared, but police are continuing their investigation.
