Houston man arrested for fifth time on mail theft charges

A Houston man was arrested for the fifth time for stealing mail from multiple addresses.

The charges state that on June 23, Eddie Jermaine Hightower took mail from someone else’s mailbox intending to steal it.

Court records show Hightower has a lengthy criminal history including charges of burglary of a vehicle, theft, fraud, burglary of a building, and criminal trespass, was arrested.

His latest charge, theft of mail involving fewer than ten addresses, marks his most recent offense. However, a closer look into his criminal history reveals Hightower has been previously arrested on similar mail theft-related charges.

Earlier this year, on January 23, Hightower faced multiple charges for theft of mail involving 10 to 30 addresses. On May 14, he was charged with theft of mail involving fewer than 10 addresses and released on a $1,000 bond.

Hightower is currently held with a $5,000 bond.
