Man found dead in ditch in Tomball believed to have been hit by train

TOMBALL, Texas – Police in Tomball believe a man found dead in a ditch Sunday was hit by a train.

The man’s body was discovered in the ditch on Southmore Street near S. Cherry Street in Tomball. The ditch is located next to the train tracks that run through town.

Investigators are not sure when the man was hit and it is still early in the investigation, but they do not believe the man’s death was due to a criminal act.

Investigators are working with BNSF Railway to try and determine the times trains passed by the area to piece together when the man may have been hit.

The man’s body has been transported to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

The man’s identity has not been released.
