Michael Leahy’s family finally has some answers about his whereabouts after he went missing on St. Patrick’s Day in 2023.

A detective contacted Michael Leahy’s mother to report that he was last admitted to a Washington, D.C. hospital on March 20, 2023, the same day he was last active on social media. Sadly, he passed away that day, offering a tragic end to the search.

St. Patrick’s Day 2023 marked the mysterious disappearance of 36-year-old Michael Leahy, leaving his family frantic and desperate for answers.

His mother, Rebecca Leahy, shared the heartbreaking story of her son’s disappearance and the challenges she has faced in trying to find him.

Michael’s journey to Houston began in 2020, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rebecca explained, “We left San Diego, where I raised him. I have two boys. My daughter passed away, so it’s really hard for me with Michael missing. I ended up really sick with septicemia from mold in my apartment, and a doctor told me I had to move. Michael didn’t want to go with me, so he went to Houston. I don’t know what took him there; he never explained that to me.”

Rebecca last spoke to Michael on St. Patrick’s Day in 2023. She recounted the difficulties he faced.

“I know that he was robbed on October 7 of 2022. His identification, birth certificate, all his jewelry, his belongings were stolen,” she shared. “He was asking me to send money, but he had no way for me to send it because he had no ID.”

Despite his struggles, Michael is described as a highly intelligent and good-hearted individual.

“He doesn’t do drugs,” Rebecca said. “He’s a health nut and likes to bodybuild. He always wanted to be in the military.”

Michael’s mental health has also been a concern.

“Michael does suffer from mental health issues, but he is highly intelligent. He wanted to be in the military, and he was turned down, which played a part in his direction,” Rebecca noted.

In August 2023, a private investigator found Michael’s name on a VIP wish list. However, since his identification was stolen, Rebecca fears someone might have stolen his identity.

After many obstacles, Rebecca was finally able to submit a missing person report for her son.

“They told me I had to come to Houston to file because I’m not in Houston. I’m very sick and have had over 30 surgeries. Getting on a plane is not easy for me,” she explained.

Despite these challenges, Rebecca remains hopeful.

Michael is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds, with medium brown eyes. He has several tattoos, including a tiki tattoo on his left side, a sleeve of greek gods on his right arm, and “Rocker” on his back from shoulder to shoulder.

Remaining hopeful, Rebecca continues to hold out for her son’s safe return.

“Please call me. Come home. I got a house with an extra bedroom,” she shared. “I’m still holding the bedroom for him.”

If anyone has information regarding Michael Leahy’s whereabouts, they are urged to contact local authorities.
