Motorcyclist dies in crash along Seawall Blvd. in Galveston

GALVESTON, Texas – The driver of a motorcycle died Sunday in a crash along Seawall Boulevard in Galveston.

Officials say the crash happened at the intersection of 33rd Street and Seawall Blvd. at approximately 5:10 p.m.

Police say the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Seawall Blvd. when it collided with a vehicle turning right from 33rd Street onto Seawall Blvd.

Witnesses told police the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed on Seawall when the accident occurred. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

No arrests were made. Officials say the intersection at 33rd and Seawall on the north side of Seawall is currently closed and will reopen later this evening.
