HOUSTON – KPRC 2′s beloved Chief Meteorologist, Frank Billingsley, is retiring after a distinguished career spanning more than three decades. His last day on air will be June 28, 2024.

Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist Anthony Yanez will succeed Billingsley as Chief Meteorologist.
Houston viewers first met Yanez in the summer of 2003 during KPRC 2′s team coverage of Hurricane Claudette, marking his debut on the air.
With more than 25 years of broadcast news experience, Yanez has found his passion in weather and holds seals of approval from prominent weather organizations, including the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA). He was awarded the 2020 Best Weathercast by the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California.
Anthony Yanez will be handing over the morning meteorologist duties to Justin Stapleton.
- The new KPRC 2 Storm Tracker Team lineup will be:
- Anthony Yanez: 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts
- Justin Stapleton: 5 a.m.-7 a.m. KPRC 2 News Today, 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. KPRC 2+ Now, 10 a.m. KPRC 2 News Today
- Caroline Brown: Noon, 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. newscasts
- Brittany Begley: Weekend mornings
- Daji Aswad: Weekend evenings
Billingsley expressed his gratitude to the Houston community for their support throughout his career. He plans to remain active in the community during his retirement.
