Robbery suspect arrested by Houston PD may also be linked to Missouri City chase that resulted in mother and son’s death

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – Officials say an aggravated robbery suspect arrested by Houston Police, could be the same suspect in a robbery pursuit that ended when a Missouri City police officer fatally crashed into a mother and son’s vehicle as he was rushing to the scene.

That robbery suspect has been taken into custody.

We’re piecing together a violent timeline that includes multiple aggravated robberies in two jurisdictions, and the loss of two beloved lives. We now know one man may be at the center of it all.

A balloon memorial now decorates the area where that beloved mother and son lost their lives.

On Thursday, 53-year-old Angela Stewart and her son Mason Stewart were killed in a T-bone crash on his 16th birthday.

A Missouri City police officer crashed into their vehicle on the way to an armed robbery call at a Bank of America just a few hundred yards away, near the 1600 block of Cartwright.

The detective working that robbery says the officer wasn’t able to apprehend the suspect following the crash as he had to be taken to the hospital.

After that story aired, the detective says he got a call from HPD saying a man matching the suspect’s description and suspect vehicle description which is a silver Honda, was wanted for two armed ATM robberies in Houston on South Post Oak Road earlier Thursday.

The Missouri City detective says his department worked with HPD which used Flock cameras to later catch who they believe could be the same suspect. He was allegedly committing what would be a fourth ATM robbery on South Post Oak Road on Friday.

That suspect’s name has not been released.

This is all preliminary information and officials are working to confirm this is the same suspect in all four robberies. As for the officer involved in Thursday’s crash, we’re told he’s been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a DPS investigation.
