Less than a day after falling just short in the College World Series Final against Tennessee, Texas A&M head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle has accepted the job at the University of Texas, sources say.
As rumors swirled throughout the day Tuesday, the first verifiable report came from Chip Brown of Horns247.com at 4:57 p.m.

In a press conference after last night’s loss, Schlossnagle didn’t outright say that he wasn’t interested in the Texas job, but he heavily implied that he was committed to coaching at Texas A&M.
“I think it’s pretty selfish of you to ask me [about other jobs], to be honest with you. I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M. I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again and that hasn’t changed in my mind,” Schlossnagle told TexAgs managing editor Richard Zane last night.
Now, the Aggies appear to be looking for their next baseball coach.
