While in custody for one fentanyl-related murder, a Montgomery County man is charged with another murder.
Keian Alexander Cormier, first charged on May 21, now faces an additional murder charge as of June 18.

On April 19, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to the 10000 block of Twin Circles in Montgomery, regarding someone who was found dead. Members of the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MOCONET) also assisted, suspecting the individual had died from an overdose. It was later confirmed that Tyler Gengo died from the toxic effects of fentanyl.
Cormier was identified as the supplier of the fentanyl and has now been charged with a second count of murder, while already in custody for a previous Fentanyl-related death.
On March 16, MOCONET responded to a death investigation on Barberry Street in Willis, where 21-year-old Samuel Pearson was found deceased. It was later confirmed that Pearson died from a fentanyl overdose.
Following an investigation, Cormier was identified as the supplier of the fentanyl. He was arrested and initially charged with murder on May 21.
Since 2019, MOCONET and the Houston High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) have been addressing fentanyl trafficking in Montgomery County. Under House Bill 6, enacted on September 1, 2023, individuals can be charged with “fentanyl murder” if their distribution leads to death.
