A man was killed following an argument at an apartment complex in northeast Houston, according to police.
The incident happened Saturday night at the Pinewood Apartments on Greens Road near George Bush Intercontinental Airport, with officers responding to a shooting at 9:40 p.m.

Upon arrival, HPD found a man dead from a gunshot wound. Eyewitnesses reported seeing two men arguing before one pulled out a gun and shot the other, then fled the scene.

Video from the scene shows dozens of residents standing outside as officers processed the area. Due to reports from witnesses, a tactical unit was called in to sweep the complex.
“We were just being cautious at that point. There were several eyewitnesses out here who said they might have seen somebody fleeing into that general direction, into a possible apartment,” said Lt. Daniel Salinas of the Houston Police Department. “We went and got consent to search, and we searched, and nothing came up on it.”
HPD has not yet identified the victim. Family and friends on the scene described the man as a good person. The suspect is still at large, and police are actively searching for him.
