One person was killed, and another was injured following an alleged gambling dispute at a Houston-area basketball court.
Officers were alerted to shots being fired at 7:18 p.m. Saturday night at the Alief-Amity Park. They also heard that two males were down.

Houston Fire Department reached the scene first, and one male was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m. The other male was transported to a nearby hospital after being struck in the head by a fist, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
Officials with Houston Police Department reported that the altercation at the basketball court involved a gambling debt.
HPD said they are currently unaware of how many other individuals were involved, but they expect that there were multiple other people present at the time of the violence.
