A new tropical depression has formed in the southwest Gulf of Mexico.
The National Hurricane Center began issuing advisories Sunday afternoon on Tropical Depression 3 located in the Bay of Campeche.
It is currently 185 miles east southeast of Tuxpan, Mexico and has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.
It is moving west at 12 mph and has a minimum central pressure of 1006 mb.
This system is forecasted to strengthen into a weak tropical storm before making landfall late Sunday night or early Monday morning in Mexico.
There is no threat to Texas from this system, but heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Mexico as this system moves inland and dissipates.
