HOUSTON – Authorities have a man behind bars in Montgomery County for allegedly using artificial intelligence to alter a teenage girl’s photo.

According to the Montgomery Co. Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, an investigation was launched into 30-year-old Roman Shoffner back in May. This after authorities learned he used an A.I. program on his phone to alter a picture of a 17-year-old girl “by removing her clothing.”

After altering the picture, it showed the 17-year-old’s face but was completely naked, investigators said. Shoffner’s phone was forensically seized by Precinct 3 detectives and had enough probable cause to charge him with intentions of possessing child pornography and an arrest warrant was filed.

Shoffner was arrested on June 28 and booked in the Montgomery County Jail.
