Man killed in apparent drive-by shooting after buying from food truck in west Houston

HOUSTON – Authorities are piecing together what led to a man’s death after an apparent drive-by shooting in west Houston when he was buying some food.

It happened a little before 2 a.m. when Houston police said they were called to a shooting on Richmond Ave. near Dunvale. That’s where investigators said an unidentified man was found shot to death, possibly in the neck.

Preliminary details shared by investigators were the man, possibly in his 30s, bought some food from a truck in the area when a white Mercedes pulled up and two masked men got out and began shooting.

There were about nine shell casings found at the scene, but a motive for the deadly shooting is unclear, as of this writing. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate as the two masked gunmen are still on the loose.

Police are also urging anyone who may have information related to this case to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
