PHOTOS: 2 children, 2 adults rescued after boat capsizes off Galveston

GALVESTON, Texas – The Coast Guard rescued two children and two adults from the water off Galveston on Fourth of July.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders said they received a report from Towboat U.S. at 6:20 p.m. about a vessel overturned with two adults and two children aboard.

Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station Galveston 29-foot Response Boat–Small crew to respond.

The RB–S crew arrived on scene and sighted the family hanging onto the capsized vessel, the two children were wearing life jackets, the two adults were not. The boat crew approached the boaters and safely transferred them to Galveston Bait and Tackle.

There were no reported injuries.
