HOUSTON – Hundreds of flights were canceled or delayed at Hobby and Bush Intercontinental Airport as Hurricane Beryl pushed through the SE Texas region.

According to FlightAware.com, there were a total of 1,132 flights canceled out of IAH and another 312 canceled out of Hobby.
Additionally, there were 20 flight delays reported at IAH and 22 out of Hobby.
On Sunday, Houston Airports made a post on X, reminding people that the airports are not equipped to serve as storm shelters.
As the storm approaches and people plan to stay indoors and safe from the storm, we want to remind everyone that our airports are not equipped to serve as storm shelters. We lack the supplies and staff to accommodate people seeking refuge during the storm. @iah @HobbyAirport

Hobby Airport officials also posted on X that airlines were canceling and adjusting flights.

Around 1:30 p.m., airport officials reported that Will Clayton Parkway was impassable due to downed trees and debris.
Drivers in the area are urged to use JFK Blvd as an alternate route.
