The man, 53, who was entrapped and reported unresponsive, has died. Preliminary information indicates he was sitting in the house with his family, riding out the storm, when an oak tree fell on the roof, causing the structure to collapse on him. His wife and children were unharmed. Another occupant was transported to the hospital with injuries.

The incident has caused significant disruptions in the area, with northbound lanes blocked by the fallen tree and power lines down at Crossing Kings River Drive and Water Point Trail nearby. The Atascocita Fire Department and Constables from Harris County Precinct 4 were on the scene assisting with the response.
