Details are limited as it’s an active scene, but it happened a little before 9:15 a.m., according to the Houston Fire Department. That’s when investigators said they were called to the 2100 block of Des Jardines St. off Gulf Fwy where a tree fell on a home, trapping two men inside.

One of the men was still in bed when the tree collapsed. Two neighbors nearby alerted authorities and they were able to get rescued safely.
At last check, both men were taken to a hospital for treatment but are said to be OK. This is the second incident, so far, that KPRC 2 has reported on related to a tree damaging a home after a grandmother was killed in northwest Houston.
