When officers arrived, they found a 34-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial witness reports indicated an interaction between the victim and a white pickup truck in the middle of the street. However, HPD now claims one of the individuals who posed as a witness is actually a suspect.

HPD Lt. R. Willkens also said that another group of witnesses saw the incident and described a confrontation between two men in the street. Authorities may be looking for another individual involved.

Anyone with more information is asked to call HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600. The investigation is ongoing.
