HOUSTON – Authorities are piecing together what led to a man’s death at an impound parking lot in north Houston overnight Friday.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 5900 block of North Fwy, where police said they found a man dead from a single gunshot. Lt. Crowson with Houston PD says the area is a car lot for wreckers and they believe the victim is an employee who may have gotten into a fight with a customer after they towed their vehicle.

The reason for that is because police found a vehicle matching the shooter’s description and had them detained. Officers with Fort Worth PD were seen assisting with the crime scene as part of the hundreds of officers from across the state to help local law enforcement as Hurricane Beryl’s recovery efforts continue.
