Seabrook sees hope for power restoration

HOUSTON – While families in Seabrook waited for power to be restored, showers and storms helped bring some relief from the heat, but the rain also slowed the clean up process down.

“Are we going to be able to get this work done,” Bonita Sanders said.

Wayne and Bonita Sanders were working through the soggy afternoon, putting their fences back up after Beryl’s winds blew it down.

Down the road at their neighbor’s house, lineman from Kentucky were replacing a electrical pole that snapped in half. Although Kevin Miller’s backyard had track marks, a wobbly fence he was grateful to see progress to restore power in his neighborhood.

I asked Miller what he hopes for the rest of Hurricane Season, he hopes there are no more storms because of his concern of continuous damage and recovery.

“I’m afraid of is we get all this clean up weather, no matter how long it takes. A month or two. Another one comes in right after. Does the same thing have to start over? Said Kevin miller.

While this neighborhood saw hope as lineman working cutting trees and putting up new power poles, many other CenterPoint customers are still without power.
