A man was arrested after a standoff with police and SWAT at an apartment complex in west Houston.
The incident began when a call was made to the Houston Police Department reporting that the man, who owed money to another individual, was threatening someone with a gun at the 12700 block of Ashford Point. When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect fled on foot and was believed to have entered an apartment.

A woman then reported that the suspect had run into her apartment with a rifle and threatened her as well. Officers established a perimeter around the area. Another individual exited the apartment, claiming the suspect was not inside. However, a different witness later indicated that the suspect was in his apartment.
After confirming the suspect’s location, SWAT began negotiating with him to surrender. The situation escalated when the suspect broke through the sheetrock of one apartment to another, attempting to escape through a different door. Officers apprehended the man as he tried to leave the scene and was positively identified as the suspect.
The suspect was arrested on a parole warrant and is facing additional charges for threatening the woman he lived with and for breaking into other apartments. No injuries were reported.
