Crews have been working 16-hour shifts around the clock to address the widespread vegetation-related damage to distribution lines caused by strong winds and heavy rainfall. Special equipment is being used to access hard-to-reach areas and expedite repairs.

Safety tips:

  • Stay away from downed power lines and report them by calling 1-800-9OUTAGE or 1-800-968-8243.
  • Do not trim trees or remove debris near downed power lines. Only power company crews or their contractors should handle trees or limbs touching power lines.
  • Keep away from areas where crews are working to avoid danger from moving equipment and falling materials.
  • If using a generator, ensure a licensed electrician disconnects you from the utility electric system before connecting to your main electric panel.
