IDEA Public Schools in Houston are stepping up to support the community affected by Hurricane Beryl by offering free meals to all children.
With power fully restored, IDEA campuses including IDEA Spears, IDEA Hardy, and IDEA Lake Houston will serve children in need through the Child Nutrition Program.

All children in the community, aged 18 and younger, qualify for the free meals, regardless of whether they are IDEA students.
Cafeteria Assistant Manager Maria Aguirre at IDEA Spears, who personally experienced power outages for over five days, emphasized the importance of this initiative.
“Many children in our community are at risk of going hungry because of the devastation we all faced with Hurricane Beryl,” Aguirre said in a press release. “But no matter the situation, our calling is to serve those in need, and we are grateful to be able to provide nutritious meals to our children.”
