Where to get food, water as thousands remain without power post-Beryl

HOUSTON – Thousands of Houston area residents and businesses are still without power a week after Hurricane Beryl hit the Texas Coast.

Due to not having power, many families and individuals have lost all of their refrigerated items, adding to the long list of problems the city is facing post-Beryl.

If you’re without food, several places are holding food and water distributions across the Houston area this week:

Harris County Precinct 1

Food and water distribution sites:

  • HCP1 Central Service Center, 7901 El Rio Street, open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Lincoln Park Community Center, 979 Grenshaw Street, open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Hot meal distribution with the Salvation Army:

HCP1 El Camino Center, 2727 El Camino Street, open from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Harris County Precinct 2

  • M.O. Campbell Education Center, 1865 Aldine Bender, starting at 7:30 a.m.

Harris County Precinct 3:

The following community centers will continue to distribute water & MREs, while supplies last:

  • Juergen’s Hall
  • Big Stone Lodge
  • Trini Mendenhall Community Center
  • George H.W. Bush Community Center
  • San Jacinto Community Center

The following community center will be open for residents to cool off, charge devices, and enjoy free Wi-Fi only:

  • Crosby Community Center

Due to ongoing power issues, the following Community Centers will close after supplies run out:

  • Barrett Station Community Center
  • May Community Center

Houston ISD

  • Butler Stadium, 13755 S Main Street, starting at 9 a.m.

Crosby ISD

  • Between Crosby Middle School and Cougar Stadium, 14703 FM 2100, starting at 8 a.m. until supplies run out

District K Water and Food Distribution

  • The Fountain Life Center, 14083 S. Main Street, from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
