Details are limited as it’s an active situation, but according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez via X, formerly known as Twitter, there were a total of five people in the helicopter. Four of the individuals were SWAT members and the other was the pilot.

It’s unclear what caused the helicopter to make a hard landing/crash, but the injuries they suffered are not said to be life-threatening.

Still, all the individuals were hospitalized. The remainder of the course, we’re told, has been canceled and all participants have been sent home while the Texas DPS and Federal Aviation officials conduct an investigation.
