Lt. R. Willkens with the Houston Police Department said their dispatch units first got a call sometime after midnight. The caller told police they overheard unhoused individuals discussing bodies found in a trailer in the 6100 block of Milwee Street, off Highway 290.

Responding officers and firefighters searched around the property and noticed a trailer with a hole cut out on the top. When they looked through that hole, they found two bodies, who Lt. Willkens said appeared to be there for quite some time.

“Appears to be two bodies for sure - I mean they’ve been there for a very long time, so they’re very decomposed,” he explained. “They almost look like mummies, in a way.”

Medical examiners will determine the cause of death. Based on initial signs, Lt. Willkens believes they are unhoused individuals, who turned the trailer into a makeshift home.
