HOUSTON – Doctors say not to be alarmed by the rise of COVID-19 cases, as the virus has a pattern of spiking in the summer. Plus, it’s not the only thing causing people to get sick.

Here’s a list of what doctors around the Greater Houston Area are seeing:

NORTH:

Dr. Sadiya Jamal, Pediatrician at Kelsey-Seybold Woodlands Clinic seeing a lot of hand-foot mouth, Fifth’s disease, strep, viral gastroenteritis and COVID-19.

Dr. Rumana Hoque, at the Kelsey-Seybold Woodlands Clinic is seeing ear infections, UTI, strep, flu, COVID, sinus infection, shoulder and back pain.

Dr. Laurie McKillip, at the Kelsey-Seybold Conroe Clinic is seeing hand-foot mouth disease, and suspected COVID-19 in Conroe

Dr. Paul Kanaby, at the Kelsey-Seybold North Houston Campus is seeing community acquired pneumonia.

WEST:

Dr. Kara Carter, Pediatrician at the Kelsey-Seybold Katy Clinic is seeing community acquired pneumonia cases and COVID-19 cases.

Dr. Jessica Lanerie, Pediatrician at the Kelsey-Seybold Sienna Clinic is seeing hand-foot mouth disease, viral gastroenteritis, and COVID-19.

Dr. Brittany Richardson-Canty, Pediatrician at the Kelsey-Seybold Katy Clinic is seeing more cases of community acquired pneumonia, viral gastro (increasing in last 2-3 weeks) and increasing COVID-19.

SOUTH:

Dr. Karen Wittenburg, Pediatrician at the Kelsey-Seybold Bay Area Campus is seeing lots of COVID-19, hand-foot mouth disease, viral gastroenteritis, a bit of strep pharyngitis, and even one Influenza A case last week.

Dr. Briana Gonner, Pediatrician at the Kelsey-Seybold Bay Area Campus is seeing community acquired pneumonia in higher numbers and cases of hand foot and mouth. Not seeing much flu, strep throat, or COVID-19.
