At approximately 11:24 a.m. Saturday morning, Houston police were alerted to a man threatening someone with a knife. Moments later, additional calls came in reporting that the same man was threatening others as well.

When officers arrived at the scene and confronted the suspect, he ran across the street on Westheimer to a cemetery. Police surrounded the suspect and attempted to deescalate the situation. The man ignored their commands and approached the officers, which is when shots were fired by authorities.
