Identity of woman found stabbed to death in backyard in NW Harris County released; suspect still on run

HOUSTONHarris County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for the individual responsible for stabbing and killing a woman in northwest Harris County.

Deputies responded to a home at the 20800 block of Sunshine Meadow Drive near Waller Tomball Road around 7 p.m. Saturday night.

Upon arrival, they found a 62-year-old woman who had been stabbed multiple times in the backyard. A man at the scene identified the victim as his mother.

On Tuesday, HCSO released the name of the victim, identified as Dana Magnuson. She was described as an active community member and beloved by those who knew her.

Deputies currently have no suspect but consider the perpetrator to be armed and dangerous. HCSO said its team has been working tirelessly on the follow-up investigation and will continue to do so until her killer is identified and brought to justice.
