Fort Bend County Judge KP George and the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District held a press conference to announce the availability of Tax Disaster Exemptions for residents affected by the recent Major Disaster Declarations.
According to a news release, properties physically impacted by the hurricane may be eligible for a temporary exemption under Tax Code Section 11.35.
This exemption allows for a reduction in the appraised value of the property.
Residents can find Form 50-312, Temporary Exemption Property Damaged by Disaster, on the FBCAD.org website under the “Forms” page, in the “Additional Exemptions” section. Completed forms should be returned to the Appraisal District either in person, by US mail, or by email to info@fbcad.org.
