LEAGUE CITY, Texas – Giselle Salazar, a mother of four, was found hanging from a League City dock on the last day of May.
Police had to talk her boyfriend, later identified as 51-year-old James Hart, who was out on his boat, into coming ashore that afternoon because he was so distraught.

However, on Thursday, detectives went back to that same marina on Davis Road and arrested Hart, who is now accused of tampering with her body and physical evidence.
Investigators first grew suspicious because when they found Salazar, one of her arms was up in the air, even though the rest of her body was hanging.

When we talked with detectives in June, they told us they thought Giselle died at another location and moved to the hanging position off the dock. They suspected her arm was raised because rigor mortis had set in.
“We wish all this was just a bad dream and it wasn’t her, Salazar’s sister Esperanza Alegria, told us last month after police said they suspected foul play.

At that time, police said they’d gone through nearly 2,000 video clips and had two people of interest.
Salazar, who was 30, moved to League City two years ago, fleeing an abusive relationship in Colorado where she’d lived for 8 years.
“She was trying to change her life,” her brother Nathan told us. He says Giselle was “the most charismatic person you’d ever meet.”
Nathan and his mother are now raising three of Giselle’s children.
Hart, meanwhile, is currently being held on an $80,000 bond.
