Terrance Howard (RPHS ‘22) is a former @AlabamaFTBL player recently transferring to @NCCU_Football. He was involved in a car accident & is fighting for his life in Charolette, NC! Pray for God’s Devine healing & strength as T fights!https://t.co/LJrs7atUrc pic.twitter.com/oOqSO3gFk3
He recently transferred to North Carolina Central University to play football and run track and had traveled back to the University of Alabama to pack up the rest of his things along with his parents last weekend.
His family says Howard was on I-85 near Salisbury, NC early Monday morning when he had a minor crash during a storm. His family says he got out of his car to check on the people in the other vehicle. When he made sure they were all right, he turned around and was hit by another passing vehicle.
Howard’s family says he suffered life-threatening injuries, including massive brain trauma and is currently on a ventilator.
Howard is currently in the hospital in Charlotte, NC. His family says they are trying to get him back to Houston to get the best care he can get and to be closer to them.
Howard’s family says they have received an outpouring of support from both North Carolina Central University as well as the University of Alabama. The family says former Alabama head coach Nick Saban has also reached out to them.
The family has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for Howard’s transportation back to Houston as well as his treatment. You can find the GoFundMe here.
