It was his second stop in Texas on Monday, as he had just been in Austin earlier.

Air Force One was filled with traveling members of Congress, including Rep. Al Green, civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton, and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.

The President paid his respects at Houston City Hall, where Lee became just the second to lie in state.

Sky 2 captured the congresswoman’s procession around 6 a.m. Monday. The public paid their respects throughout the day before the President’s private visit alongside Lee’s husband and children.

10 days ago, Lee died from pancreatic cancer.

During President Biden’s short visit, he placed a bouquet of flowers near Lee’s flag-draped casket, bowed his head in prayer, and signed a guest book with the message, “Fearless, proud, and bold. May God bless a dear friend and great American. May God bless you, Sheila Jackson Lee.”

Vice President Harris will also be returning to Houston on Thursday, August 1, for Congresswoman Jackson Lee’s funeral.
