In a press release issued Sunday, Governor Greg Abbott announced he has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and A&M Forest Service to deploy firefighters, emergency personnel, fire engines, and any other necessary equipment to assist in response efforts to California.

Texas emergency officials have already prepared more than 100 firefighters, emergency personnel, and over 25 fire engines, command vehicles, and equipment to send as the state battles ongoing wildfires in northern California.
