Ahead of the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game Thursday night, KPRC 2′s Chancellor Johnson sat down with former Houston Texans’ wide receiver Andre Johnson as he prepares to officially be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Johnson will technically be the second former member of the Texans to be immortalized the Hall of Fame, after safety Ed Reed was elected in 2019. However, Reed played in just seven games for the Texans in 2013—his final NFL season. Johnson will be the first Hall of Fame member who played a majority of his career in Houston.

After being selected third overall by the Texans in the 2003 NFL Draft, Johnson spent 12 of his 14 NFL seasons with the team. In his career, he totaled 1,062 receptions, 14,185 yards and 70 touchdowns, and he holds the franchise records across all three major statistics. He also made seven Pro Bowls and was named First-team All-Pro twice in his career.
