Houston Mayor John Whitmire has officially announced the candidate he is supporting in the 2024 U.S. Presidential race.
On Thursday, the mayor announced that he was endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris across his social media profiles.

“Her tough but smart on crime history [sic] assures me she is committed to public safety,” Mayor Whitmire said in a statement. “She will be the partner I need to improve infrastructure and help Houston recover from recent disasters.”
Vice President Harris is viewed by many as the likely nominee for the Democratic Party in the 2024 race. She will be running up against Republican nominee and former U.S. President Donald Trump.
