Police say they were called to the area about a man banging on car windows while holding knives in his hands.

When officers arrived, they found the man near the intersection.

“Initially they gave verbal commands which he didn’t comply with, they then deployed a taser which was ineffective. He then charged at the officers, at which time there was an officer-involved shooting,” said Lt. Chris Brown of the Deer Park Police Department.

The man died from his injuries. No one else, including officers, were injured.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident and has any information to call the Deer Park Police Department.
