The dike had been closed since July 7 and repairs needed to be made after Hurricane Beryl came through.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding as post-Beryl repairs were being made. And a huge thank you to our Public Works crews who have worked tirelessly and around the clock to get our community cleaned up, repaired and back to normal!” the City of Texas City said on Facebook.
