Thousands in attendance for the funeral of late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee

HOUSTON – An honorable celebration of life is underway Thursday morning for the late U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee.

Family, friends and leaders have gathered this week to celebrate the life of Lee in Houston.

Today, more than 24 prominent leaders and advocates from politics, religion, social justice, criminal justice, Civil Rights, workers’ rights spoke at Fallbrook Church to commemorate the former congresswoman.

“Remembering Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee” started at 11 a.m. and the service will be live streamed throughout the day on KPRC 2+

The congresswoman passed away on July 19 at age 74 after her battle with pancreatic cancer.
