Man poses as cop using red and blue lights to stop cars, arrested by actual Harris County deputies

HOUSTON – A 21-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning for trying to pass himself as a cop in Memorial Park after he was spotted using red and blue lights to get vehicles to stop.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., undercover Harris County Sheriff’s deputies noticed a white Ford Taurus using red and blue lights to signal other vehicles to yield on I-10 westbound near Washington Avenue. Marked patrol units quickly intervened and stopped the vehicle at the 6600 block of Pinemont Drive.

During the inspection, deputies found a handgun and body armor inside the car.

The driver, identified as Michael Saulsberry, was taken into custody without incident. Saulsberry was arrested for impersonation of a public servant and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information or who may have been targeted by Saulsberry’s impersonation to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
